Olive Street School is one of only 97 elementary schools in the nation to receive PLTW Distinguished Launch Award

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a nonprofit organization that provides a transformative learning experience for K-12 students and teachers across the U.S. PLTW empowers students to develop in-demand, transportable knowledge and skills through pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. PLTW’s teacher training and resources support teachers as they engage their students in real-world learning. Olive Street Elementary School Earns Spirit of Education Award for all of Tulare County

This selection was made to celebrate the wonderful job the staff does promoting reading, their Read Across America efforts, the efforts of 2nd grade teacher Jill Stokes to strengthen her students’ reading abilities, and the support offered by Judy Bedell in providing a sustained focus on reading. Olive Street Elementary School will receive their award on September 1st. A big thank you to Susan Manuel and United Way for honoring our school.
